Inter striker Lautaro Martinez has admitted he always tries to give his best when playing for Inter and discussed other topics as part of an interview which features in today’s Inter Match Day Programme for tonight’s Serie A match at home to Fiorentina.

“I am a guy who always fights. I fight for my goals, for the goals of the team and for the happiness of the fans,” the 22-year-old began the interview.

The Argentine national team player, who joined Inter back in the Summer of 2018 from Racing Club, then went on to reveal that he started out playing as a defender.

“My first role in football was as a defender. I had great concentration, a characteristic that still distinguishes me today. A coach then placed me up front. Scoring is the best thing about football,”

He then went on share what he believes are his best qualities as a player.

“Since I was a child I have cultivated my strengths. I have maximum concentration, I never give up, I leave everything on the field and help my teammates the best I can. I always try to give 110% for this club, for all the people who love it, for the Nerazzurri shirt.”

Next Lautaro spoke on Inter manager Antonio Conte, who has shown a lot of faith in him throughout this season.

“Conte gave me confidence and this is a very important and fundamental thing. He worked on every player’s mentality. I really appreciate him, every day he makes us grow.”

In conclusion Lautaro spoke on what he believes to be the best goal he has scored in his two years with Inter so far.

“The best goal? Maybe they are two, the one scored in the Champions League against Borussia Dortmund and the one in the friendly against Atletico Madrid.”

This season Lautaro, who is contracted to Inter until 2023, has made 41 appearances across all competitions to date, in which he has scored 18 goals and provided six assists for his teammates.
