Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur are weighing up making a bid for Roma midfielder Nicolo Zaniolo according to a report from Italian journalist and transfer market expert Nicolo Schira.
As per Schira’s report, Tottenham Hotspur boss Jose Mourinho has taken a liking to the highly rated Italian national team player, who Roma want between €60-70 million for.
Last season’s Champions League runners-up do not plan on meeting those demands though and are thinking about submitting a €50 million offer for the 21-year-old, who has a contract with the Italian capital city club until the end of the 2023/24 season.
Schira goes on to state that Inter are keeping a close eye on developments due to having a clause which means they are owed 15% if Roma transfer him away. Should Roma accept Tottenham Hotspur’s €50 million bid, Inter would therefore land a sum of €7.5 million.
He also claims that Juventus are really interested in signing the former Virtus Entella player. Reports elsewhere in the media as of late have also suggested that Inter are interested in possibly bringing him back to the club.
This season Zaniolo has made 28 appearances across all competitions to date, in which he has scored seven goals and provided two assists.
Schira tweeted: “Josè Mourinho wants Nicolò Zaniolo. Tottenham are ready to offer €50m. ASRoma ask for €60-70m to sell the Italian midfielder. Juventus are really interested in him and Inter are looking too as they will get 15% in the event of future sale.”
