Stefan de Vrij suffered a knee injury in last night’s goalless draw versus Fiorentina according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.
The Dutch central defender landed awkwardly during the first half and was forced to hobble off the pitch. Following the match Inter manager Antonio Conte admitted he had spoken with the club doctor and revealed it was nothing serious but the report states that the extent of the injury still needs to be found out.
Inter hope to be able to have him back available for the one legged Europa League last 16 tie against Spanish side Getafe on August 5.
The report from the Milan based news outlet goes on to add that Danilo D’Ambrosio has not suffered any serious injury. The Italian defender took a knock to the head and had to be bandaged up for a cut above his eyebrow.
