Inter could extend the contract of midfielder Borja Valero past the end of this season according to a report from Italian news outlet CalcioMercato.com.

The veteran Spanish central midfielder’s current deal with the club is due to expire in a matter of weeks but he could be handed a one year contract extension after impressing with his performances lately.

Inter manager Antonio Conte and club management are to meet soon to hold talks over the plans for the 2020/21 season, which Valero could well be a part of.

The report goes on to explain that Valero’s performances in what remains of the Serie A season plus the Europa League will have an impact when it comes to whether or not he will be offered a new deal by the club.

Valero, who joined Inter back in 2017 from fellow Serie A side Fiorentina, has made 23 appearances across all competitions to date this term, in which he has scored three goals.
