Italian Media Praise Inter Coach Antonio Conte For Job Done During First Season At Club

Inter manager Antonio Conte has given Inter an identity and laid solid tactical foundations in his first season in charge of the club according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

Under Conte’s tutelage, youngsters such as Alessandro Bastoni and Nicolo Barella have blossomed, Lautaro Martinez has made a leap in quality and he has also got some players back to their best, including wing-back Antonio Candreva.

At this stage in the past eight seasons, Inter have trailed the then league leaders by a range of 21 to 36 points whilst this season they trail league leaders Juventus by just seven points although that could become 10 if the Bianconeri win tonight.

Inter have also scored 22 more goals this season. In short, Conte has done a lot in his first season at the helm of the Nerazzurri, including securing Champions League qualification far sooner than Inter did in the past two seasons. There has been growth in various areas and it seems that Inter are on the right track.
