Inter have sparked an interest in signing World Cup winning centre back Mattias Ginter according to a report from Italian news outlet TuttoMercatoWeb.

The German national team defender is currently on the books of Bundesliga club Borussia Monchengladbach and has just under a year left to run on his current deal with them, although they do have an option to extend his deal by a further season.

The report explains that Inter chief executive Giuseppe ‘Beppe’ Marotta and sporting director Piero Ausilio are vigorously evaluating a possible move for the 26-year-old, who has a number of other Serie A teams and big teams in Europe interested in signing him.

This season the former Borussia Dortmund player, who is also capable of playing at right back and defensive midfield, made 36 appearances across all competitions to date. In just over 3200 minutes on the park, Ginter scored one goal and provided two assists for his teammates.
