Italian Media Claim Signing Christian Eriksen Has Been Inter CEO Beppe Marotta’s Biggest Mistake

The signing of Christian Eriksen is the greatest mistake that Inter chief executive Giuseppe ‘Beppe’ Marotta has made during his time at the club according to a report in yesterday’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Il Giornale.

Eriksen was brought to the club for €20 million back in the most recent January transfer window and Inter manager Antonio Conte has struggled to get him to perform to the level of a player worth that much.

The Danish national team player’s situation needs to be resolved as soon as possible to avoid the misunderstanding running on into next season as well.

The former Ajax man has struggled since his arrival at the Nerazzurri on a four and a half year deal and has not played anywhere near as much as expected.

Since his arrival, Eriksen has made 19 appearances across all competitions to date, in which he has scored three goals and provided as many assists.

The report also briefly goes on to state that Marcelo Brozovic has not been performing to expectations as of late either.
