Man Utd Unwilling To Extend Alexis Sanchez’s Loan At Inter Preferring To Sell Him

Manchester United are unwilling to extend the loans of Alexis Sanchez and Chris Smalling at Inter and Roma respectively according to a report from British broadcaster Sky Sport.

The Premier League club agreed to extend the loans to allow the players to play in the remainder of the Serie A season but are unwilling to extend them any further than the current expiry date of August 2 and that includes for next season too.

The report explains that the reason for this is Manchester United are instead looking to reach permanent deals for both the Chilean and Englishman.

Sanchez joined Inter on a season long loan this past Summer and sustained a serious ankle injury a few weeks into the spell which sidelined him for several months. Since the 2019/20 Serie A season got back underway, Sanchez has been Inter’s best performer with him providing many assists for his teammates.

This season he has made 26 appearances across all competitions to date, in which he has scored three goals and provided 10 assists for his teammates.
