Inter midfielder Roberto Gagliardini spoke to Italian broadcaster InterTV moments ago before the Nerazzurri’s Serie A clash against Genoa this evening, discussing the game and his physical condition.

“On a personal level I’m fine. I felt some fatigue because we are playing every three days, but I’m fine.”

The 26-year-old Italian suggested that the Nerazzurri weren’t afraid of their opponents and would approach the game the same as any other.

“We have to think about ourselves only, like always. If we do what we do in training, we can have a great game again today. The many goals I’ve scored against the Ligurian clubs is just luck, hopefully tonight will go well.”

The 26-year-old Gagliardini has made 26 appearances across all competitions so far this season, for a total of 1844 minutes. In that time, he has scored four goals and provided two assists, but hasn’t fully convinced coach Antonio Conte of his abilities.

The player is could be sold this summer by the Nerazzurri in order to make space for other midfielders, with targets being players like Sandro Tonali and Arturo Vidal, according to several reports.

Inter are currently 3rd in the league table after 35 games, two points behind second place Atalanta, who drew to AC Milan yesterday. A win would see the Milanese club return to second place, although they’d still be four points behind Juventus.
