Inter owned midfielder Valentino Lazaro would be happy to stay at Newcastle for the foreseeable future, according to a report from English newspaper Shields Gazette earlier today.

The report details how the 24-year-old Austrian midfielder, who joined the English club on loan in January, has only started three times in the league since his arrival, but sources close to the player highlight that he would be happy to stay with the club and continue his experiences in the North East of England.

It’s unlikely that Newcastle will exercise the £22 million buy option, the report continues, but the Nerazzurri would be willing to loan Lazaro to the Magpies again for next season, although they would insert an obligation to buy clause in the deal.

The Milanese club would be willing to lower the price on the player, deciding that he isn’t the right player for coach Antonio Conte and his tactical system.
