Inter striker Romelu Lukaku discussed the Nerazzurri’s definitive 3-0 win over Genoa earlier tonight in an interview with Italian broadcaster Sky Sports Italia immediately after the game.

“On a personal level I’m happy, but I can say that on a team level we can do more. We have a good team, it’s not easy to stay second because we want to win but we have to get as high as we can and I want to help to do that. We’ve lost too many points but we’re young and we want to grow.”

The 27-year-old Belgian striker then touched on what the team will do in the final games of the Serie A season, as well as the Europa League next month.

“Now we want to do well in the league and then in the Europa League. Against Napoli and Atalanta we can see where we are, in the Europa League it won’t be easy but we have to work to hope to win the trophy.”

The former Manchester United striker, who is contracted to the Nerazzurri until 2024, scored twice against the Ligurian club earlier this evening, bringing his season goal tally to 23 in the league, an incredible number for his Serie A debut.

Lukaku has made 44 appearances across all competitions so far this season, for a total of 3565 minutes. In that time, he has scored 29 goals and provided five assists.

Inter are now second in the league table after 36 games, four points behind rivals and league leaders Juventus. The Bianconeri will face Sampdoria tomorrow evening, and a win would guarantee them the Scudetto.
