Inter wished former Nerazzurri full back Maicon a happy 39th birthday in a post on their official website earlier today.
The Brazilian spent six years of his career with the Nerazzurri after signing from Ligue 1 side Monaco, from 2006 to 2012. He would go on to make 249 appearances for the Milanese club across all competitions, scoring 20 goals and providing 51 assists.
The player was noted for his class, power when striking the ball and his team spirit, being one of the stars of the Nerazzurri’s Treble winning squad in the 2009/10 season under coach Jose Mourinho.
Maicon was so popular at the Milanese club that fans often sung “Quanto è forte Maicon!”, or ‘How strong is Maicon!’, showing their appreciation of the Brazilian and his qualities.
The now 39-year-old won four league titles, one Champions League, one Club World Cup, two Coppa Italia and three Supercoppa Italiana during his time in Milan.
