Italian Media Claim Inter Preparing To Offer Barcelona Linked Lautaro Martinez A 5-Year Contract Extension

Inter have prepared a new five-year contract for Argentine striker Lautaro Martinez, in order to lock him down and push away the interested Barcelona, according to a report from Italian broadcaster Sport Mediaset earlier today.

The report details how the Nerazzurri have prepared a five-year contract for the 22-year-old Argentine striker, worth around €5.5 million net per season.

Whilst this would make Lautaro one of the best paid players in the squad, it is far from the €10 million per season salary offered by Barcelona.

Whilst reports in Spain suggest that Lautaro will still join the Blaugrana, his future is still unclear and the Nerazzurri are currently in a strong position, the report continues.

The player’s form has dipped since the restart of the season, with some suggesting that it’s a result of Barcelona’s interest. Signing a new contract may give the 22-year-old some stability and confidence that his future is secure and in a positive environment.
