Inter central midfielder Stefano Sensi has admitted that he has always believed in himself and has also discussed his arrival at Inter.

“I have always believed in my potential, but there is much more satisfaction in earning a goal like Inter a piece after another. It makes you understand that you deserve it,” he explained in an interview with Inter’s official match day programme ahead of tonight’s Serie A clash at home to Napoli.

The Italian national team midfielder then admitted he was surprised to see so many fans with his name on the back of their shirts so soon after he joined the club.

“I didn’t expect to have the start that I did but above all I didn’t expect to see the fans wearing the shirt with my name on it right away. It’s something that gives me goosebumps, I have never felt so much affection.”

Next he revealed what Inter manager Antonio Conte has made him understand about himself and what Conte brings out of all the players in the team.

“He made me understand that I can be suitable for football played 360 degrees  and that the application is fundamental. With him on the bench the concentration increases.”

In conclusion Sensi spoke on the match against Barcelona at the Nou Camp in the Champions League group stages earlier on this season: “It was the perfect picture of the work we do during the week.”

Sensi joined Inter on a season long loan with option to buy from fellow Serie A club Sassuolo this past Summer. Sensi made a great start to life in Italy but after picking up an injury in the Derby D’Italia against Juventus back in October, he has struggled to keep fit and has continued to pick up injuries.

This season he has made 18 appearances across all competitions to date, in which he has scored three goals and provided four assists for his teammates.
