Borja Valero has admitted that he feels there was no better way to celebrate his 100th appearance in an Inter shirt than with a win over Napoli.
Inter raced to an early lead against the visiting Partenopei with defender Danilo D’Ambrosio finding the back of the net 10 minutes after the game got underway at San Siro.
Despite Napoli testing Samir Handanovic on numerous occasions they could not find a way past him and second half subsitute Lautaro Martinez doubled Inter’s lead with a fine long range effort with about 15 minutes left to spare in the match.
“There is nothing more beautiful than a win to celebrate my 100th appearance in an Inter shirt. It was a deserved win for us. In some situations we found ourselves in difficult but we managed to bring home the three points,” the veteran Spanish central midfielder began an interview with Inter’s official club broadcaster Inter TV following the end of the match.
He then went on to discuss what Inter manager Antonio Conte has asked of him as of late and also spoke on the experience he has a player and how that can be beneficial.
“I try to do what the coach asks of me, even getting the ball more and managing the game. Lately we have done quite well at doing that. With experience, you can be found in the right places at the right times. I have always tried to give my contribution and I am happy with this.”
