Borussia Monchengladbach sporting director Max Eberl has reiterated that the Bundesliga club have zero intention of letting their best players depart the club in the upcoming transfer window, including Inter linked defender Matthias Ginter.

After a fourth placed finish in the Bundesliga, several of their players have drawn links with moves to other clubs and whilst Eberl acknowledges the fact that the day will come for said players to move on, he insists that now is not the time where they will move on to pastures new.

“Elvedi, Ginter, Zakaria, Embolo, Thuram or Plea who have been the best performers are young. They have another year of experience but they are still developing. We can all continue on this path together,” he explained in an interview with German newspaper Westdeutsche Zeitung.

“The X day will come for these players too but it will not be now. It amuses me to hear that despite my declarations that Manchester City want Denis Zakaria and there is already an agreement for €50 million.”

Various reports in the Italian and German media have linked Inter with making a move for 2014 World Cup winning defender Ginter, who has also been linked with potential moves to Premier League sides Arsenal and Chelsea.

This season the 26-year-old, who has been with the BORUSSIA-Park side since 2017, has made 36 appearances across all competitons to date, in which he has scored one goal and provided two assists for his teammates.
