Inter have sparked an interest in signing Chris Smalling according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

The Englishman is currently on loan at fellow Serie A side Roma from Premier League club Manchester United until August 5 and the chances of him staying with the Giallorossi club are becoming increasingly complicated.

The report from the Milan based news outlet explains that Manchester United want €20 million for Smalling and Roma’s chances of signing him have become further complicated by Inter as well as Juventus both showing an interest in signing him.

The 30-year-old centre back, who has a contract with Manchester United until the end of the 2021/22 season, has made 35 appearances across all competitions to date whilst on loan at the Italian capital city club.

In his time on the park, which totals just over 3000 minutes, the former Fulham player has scored two goals and provided as many assists for his teammates.
