Borja Valero has admitted that he currently knows nothing when it comes to whether or not he will still be with the club next season.
“I am very well, it is a beautiful moment in my life and career. I think I can always give my contribution I’m happy. Staying next year at Inter? We’ll see, now I have to finish this season and I want to do it in the best way and then we’ll talk about it but for now I don’t know anything,” he explained in an interview with Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia following Inter’s 2-0 win over Napoli at San Siro.
He was then asked how he has convinced Antonio Conte to play him as often as he has as of late compared to how little he played him at the start of this season.
“By working hard. I knew that I wouldn’t have much space but I was always ready and this has been seen on the field.”
Next the veteran Spanish midfielder was asked about teammate Christian Eriksen’s struggles to adapt and perform to expectations since his arrival at the club in the most recent January transfer window.
“It is not easy at all to adapt as Italian football is very different from English football. I did not feel good in the Premier League.
“Everyone has to find his way though. He is working and he is doing very well. He will soon prove his worth, he did what he did in England and I don’t see why he shouldn’t be able to do it in Italy too.”
The 35-year-old, who has just weeks remaining on his current contract with Inter, made his 25th appearance across all competitions to date this term and 100th appearance overall for the club in the match where goals from Danilo D’Ambrosio and Lautaro Martinez secured Inter all three points.
