Inter could try and take advantage of the cracks that have appeared in relations between Lionel Messi and Barcelona according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

The multi-time world player of the year has under a year left on his current contract and the idea of a contract extension seems far-fetched at the moment.

Whilst Messi has never openly expressed a desire to leave the Blaugrana, who he has spent his whole career with, Inter could try and take advantage of the cracks that have appeared and could also try to exploit his father’s move to Milan in the coming months.

Inter could probe the ground with his representatives and try and set up a deal for the 33-year-old, who is widely regarded as one of the greatest players of all time.

Messi currently earns €50 million net a year and the report goes on to explain that Inter have the economic strength to plan his possible arrival and could receieve help from sponsors and partners.
