Atalanta wing-back Robin Gosens has insisted that he and his teammates want to achieve a second placed finish in Serie A ahead of this weekend’s season finale at home to Inter.
Inter currently occupy second spot in the table with 79 points whilst Atalanta are directly behind them in third with one point less.
“It was a very important win for the table because we want to finish second,” Gosens explained in an interview with the Bergamo based club’s official club website.
“We have a beautiful game in the last round. It’s nice to have something to play for. Now, we have a big show that awaits us on Saturday night.”
This seasons Gosens has been one of the best performing wing-backs in all of Serie A with the German having scored nine goals and tallied eight assists in 33 league appearances. His performances have led to him being linked with several clubs in the media, including Inter.
When the sides met earlier on this season at San Siro, goals from Lautaro Martinez and Gosens himself ensured that the points were shared. The two sides are to face off at the Gewiss Stadium on Saturday night with kick-off scheduled for 20:45 local time.
