Italian Media Claims Roma’s Nicolo Zaniolo Not A Transfer Target For Inter

Roma midfielder Nicolo Zaniolo is not a transfer target for Inter ahead of the upcoming transfer market according to a report from Italian news outlet CalcioMercato.com, which comes contrary to other reports in the media.

Inter management have understood for some time that he is inapproachable. Roma want at least €50 million for the Italian national team player and Inter do not want to get themselves tangled up in complex and lengthy negotiations with excessive costs.

Zaniolo joined Roma in the Summer of 2018 as part of the deal that saw Inter land Radja Nainggolan and the report goes on to explain that Inter sporting director Piero Ausilio maintains that the club moved him on far too quickly.

The 21-year-old, who is contracted to Roma until 2024, is widely regarded as one of the best young Italian players out there at the moment and he has also been linked with a potential move to Inter’s arch rivals Juventus.

This season Zaniolo has made 31 appearances across all competitions to date, in which he has scored eight goals and tallied two assists.
