Lautaro Martinez seems more likely to stay at Inter than move to Barcelona at the moment according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.
The 22-year-old Argentine has been heavily linked with a potential move to Barcelona for some time now but has been annoyed by all the speculation and made his feelings known about it with his goal celebration against Napoli.
Inter are prepared to sit down with the player and discuss a new and improved contract with the club and they could perhaps try and remove the €111 million release clause that is in his current contract.
Barcelona’s chances of signing him are not completely over though but the report from the Milan based news outlet does go on to stress that they will need to make two big sales in order to sign the former Racing Club player.
Barcelona cannot afford to meet Inter’s asking price at the moment and Inter are not keen on any of the counterparts that they have been offered thus far.
