Bayern Munich are in no rush to sign David Alaba to a new contract according to a report from German broadcaster Sport1, which was aired a short time ago.

The Austrian national team defender’s current deal with the club is due to expire at the end of the upcoming season and talks over a new deal between the club and his representatives are currently on standby until the German side’s Champions League campaign is over.

Bayern Munich remain convinced that they will be able to come to an agreement with the 28-year-old, despite the ongoing media speculation regarding a potential move away from the club.

Alaba has been linked with Inter, Barcelona, Real Madrid and Manchester City as of late and it now remains to be seen what will happen with him.

This season Alaba has made 38 appearances across all competitions to date. In just over 3300 minutes on the field, he has scored two goals and provided as many assists.
