Matias Vecino will be sidelined by injury until at least October and a departure from Inter no longer looks so obvious according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

The Uruguayan national team player recently underwent surgery on a knee problem in Barcelona, Spain and is now in the process of recovering.

Vecino will not return until around October time at the earliest and this makes selling him particularly difficult. If Inter want to find a buyer for him, they will have to offer him out at a discounted price, something that club management are not taking into consideration.

Vecino, who joined Inter in 2017 from Fiorentina and is under contract with Inter until 2022, has made 25 appearances across all competitions to date this term.

In his time on the park, which totals just shy of 1700 minutes in total, the 28-year-old has scored three goals and has provided a single assist.
