Inter wing back Ashley Young discussed the Nerazzurri’s impressive 2-0 win over Atalanta earlier this evening in an interview with Italian broadcaster DAZN after the game.

“We expected an aggressive Atalanta, but we started strong because we wanted the three points and we’re glad we did.”

The 35-year-old Englishman touched on how he has adapted throughout his career.

“I believe in my work, if I hadn’t had adapted, I wouldn’t have had the career I had.”

Finally, Young spoke about the Nerazzurri’s upcoming game against Getafe in the Europa League next week.

“Now we have the Europa League, we want to do well. It will be very important for us not to concede goals, if we play like this, we can achieve a great team performance.”

Young has made 21 appearances across all competitions so far this season for the Nerazzurri, for a total of 1356 minutes, since arriving from Manchester United in January.

Contracted to the Milanese club until 2021, Young has impressed coach Antonio Conte, scoring four goals and providing four assists, having a dominant performance against Gian Piero Gasperini’s Atalanta squad tonight.

Inter finish the season in second place, one point behind rivals and winners Juventus. The Milanese club are now looking to finish the season on a high note, by winning the Europa League. That journey continues next week against Getafe.
