Inter coach Antonio Conte will not resign and the club will not dismiss him, despite his outburst to the media yesterday in interviews after the club’s 2-0 win over Atalanta, according to a report from Italian newspaper Corriere della Sera.
The report details how the 51-year-old Italian coach complained in interviews that the club didn’t protect him or the squad when the media began criticizing the club and making unfair comparisons to Juventus during the difficult parts of the season.
He also touched on how the management often don’t agree with his transfer targets, highlighting how difficult it was for him to sign Romelu Lukaku last summer.
Conte will discuss things with president Steven Zhang, the report continues, but will not resign and the club will not dismiss him.
He has a €12 million net salary per season until 2022 and the management believe that he is a central figure in their new project. The club and Conte will be able to continue working together but a meeting is required to calm things down.
