Inter could look to sign Barcelona star Lionel Messi in a deal worth around €260 million, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Milano based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

The report details how the Nerazzurri’s owners the Suning group could make the super investment in the 33-year-old Argentine star, whose contract expires with Barcelona at the end of next season. Everything depends on the six-time Ballon d’Or winner’s desires and if he wants to leave Barcelona, a club that he’s called home for 20 years now.

Despite the fact that his contract expires with the Blaugrana at the end of next season, Messi has not expressed a desire to leave, the report continues. But should the 33-year-old look to leave Catalonia, Inter and the Suning group would be waiting with open arms.

Messi has scored 30 goals and provided 26 assists in 42 appearances so far this season across all competitions, still taking part in the Champions League.
