Inter are working to offer new contracts to multiple squad players, according to a report from Italian journalist Nicolò Schira on Twitter earlier today.

The report details how the Milanese club are looking to offer new contracts to Daniele Padelli, Samir Handanovic, Borja Valero, Danilo D’Ambrosio and Antonio Candreva. All of these players, with the exception of Padelli, have featured semi-regularly for the Milanese club this season under coach Antonio Conte and have been praised for their professionalism.

Inter are looking to strengthen the squad this summer in order to better equip Conte for the title race next season, and so offering these players contract extensions shows which players will still be important elements under the Lecce born coach.

The Nerazzurri’s second place finish in the league this season means that they will earn €27 million in prize money, which is likely to be reinvested into the squad.

Schira discussed the news in a Tweet, saying: “Busy days for contract renewals at Inter: one-year extension for Borja Valero and Daniele Padelli. Extension until 2022 for Danilo D’Ambrosio, Samir Handanovic and Antonio Candreva.”
