A report from Italian media outlet Panorama has detailed why Inter coach Antonio Conte complained to the media about the club yesterday, after the Nerazzurri’s 2-0 win over Atalanta.

The report details how the 51-year-old Italian coach felt like he has worked hard this season to begin a project that requires time and growth, and believes that the media have been unfair in criticizing the squad and instantly making comparisons between them and Juventus.

The former Chelsea boss believes that the club didn’t protect him or the squad from the media and their criticisms throughout the most difficult times of the season.

The effort to sign Belgian striker Romelu Lukaku last summer wore out Conte, the report continues, and his relationship with CEO Beppe Marotta suffered a little.

The fact that he didn’t receive the players he requested, such as asking for Barcelona’s Arturo Vidal and receiving Christian Eriksen, to the fact that he only had two strikers at his disposal plus a teenager like Sebastiano Esposito. His issues can be fixed should the club sign some of his requested players this summer.
