Italian stats provider Opta Paolo noted how the Nerazzurri barely missed out on the league title in a post on their Twitter page yesterday.
Inter’s win over Gian Piero Gasperini’s Atalanta means that the Nerazzurri finish the season in second place, ahead of Atalanta and Lazio. The Milanese club finish the season only one point behind rivals Juventus, who secured the league title with 83 points this season.
Coach Antonio Conte has already begun to focus on the next game, against Getafe in the Europa League next week.
82 – Inter have picked up 82 Serie A points current season, equalling their performance in 2009/10, under José Mourinho. It’s the first time the Nerazzurri have earned 79+ points in a single term without winning the Scudetto in the three points for a win era. Whisker. pic.twitter.com/PySPaKW3IA
