Hellas Verona sporting director Tony D’Amico has admitted that the club would be more than happy to keep a hold of the coveted Marash Kumbulla.
Kumbulla has been linked with a number of clubs ahead of the upcoming transfer window, especially fellow Serie A clubs Inter and Lazio.
Reports in the media have suggested that Inter are leading the race to sign the highly rated Albanian national team defender, who Hellas Verona want in the region of €30 million for.
“Marash is an important boy, he has great qualities and we would be happy to keep him, but we know that he is receiving a lot of attention. We will see what happens later, we will tackle these topics from tomorrow [today],” D’Amico remarked in an interview with sports broadcaster DAZN following their 3-0 loss to Genoa yesterday.
20-year-old Kumbulla had his first team breakthrough this season at the Stadio Marc’Antonio Bentegodi club, who he is under contract with until 2022.
This season Kumbulla made 26 appearances across all competitions to date. In just under 2100 minutes on the park, the Gialloblu club academy graduate scored a single goal and helped the team to keep seven clean sheets.
