Inter manager Antonio Conte will have a meeting decisive for his future with the club with Inter president Steven Zhang at the end of the season according to a report from Italian news outlet FCInterNews.it.

If there is no shared vision when it comes to the project, management, objectives and strategy, Conte is ready to step aside. The former Italian national team boss is not someone who would stick around just to pick up his salary. He loves his work and wants to work somewhere where there is total synergy.

If the club and Conte can clarify the differences that have emerged, they will carry on together and enter into the second year of his three year contract with the club.

In the meantime, the Europa League is fast approaching and all at the club want to do well in the competition and potentially go all the way and win it. After the Europa League there will be the face to face meeting and the report suggests that it could be best that everything is said directly and perhaps even harshly, to avoid any misunderstandings.

The report also goes on to highlight that rumours have circulated that Barcelona have recently shown an interest in appointing Conte as their manager but FCInterNews.it state that the rumour is not confirmed.

In the event that Inter and Conte part ways, whether that be through him resigning or via another way, Inter do not wish to be found unprepared and have identified two managers who could potentially replace him at the helm.

Former Juventus boss Massimiliano Allegri and ex-Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino are both possible candidates to replace Conte.

Allegri is Inter’s Plan A and is understood to be open to the possibility of taking charge at Inter. Pochettino is meanwhile the Plan B and is highly esteemed by Inter vice-president Javier Zanetti and Piero Ausilio, who tried to bring him to the club prior to appointing Luciano Spalletti.
