Inter club captain and number one goalkeeper Samir Handanovic has revealed that he and his Inter teammates are ready to give their best ahead of tomorrow night’s Europa League last 16 clash against Getafe.

Inter are facing Getafe in a one legged affair at the Arena’Auf Schalke in Gelsenkirchen, Germany and the winner of the tie will face the winner of the match between Rangers and Bayer Leverkusen in the quarter finals of the competition.

“All the teams think the same way. We are fine, even physically, we are ready to give our best. We don’t know where our best will take us,” he explained to the gathered media as part of the pre-match press conference, which he attended with Inter manager Antonio Conte.

Handanovic was then asked what Inter’s biggest strength is at the moment following a strong end to the 2019/20 Serie A season, where they achieved a second placed finish and ended up just one point behind champions and arch rivals Juventus.

“Our strength is that physically and psychologically we are doing well, we have shown this especially in the last 3-4 games, in which we all took care not to concede goals, not just the goalkeepers and defenders. Our cynicism has increased. This will also be fundamental for this competition that awaits us.”

In conclusion he was asked if going all the way and winning the Europa League would be a catalyst for the team.

“Yes, without adding anything else. Simple question, simple answer, I say yes.”
