The imminent signing of Alexis Sanchez reduces the chances of Roma captain Edin Dzeko ending up at Inter according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Corriere dello Sport.

Inter are on the brink of completing a deal to sign the Chilean national team player on a permanent basis and provided Lautaro Martinez does not leave, Antonio Conte (or his replacement if he leaves), will have an attacking department consisting of Romelu Lukaku, Lautaro and Sanchez.

One more player would be needed to complete the attacking department. It is difficult to imagine that the fourth striker will be Dzeko due to how much it would cost to sign him.

The report goes on to explain that it would be easier to do a deal for a younger player to complete the attack. Inter could well bring Andrea Pinamonti back from the club from Genoa, who they have a gentleman’s agreement with. By bringing Pinamonti back, they would stop him from going to Juventus, who have shown an interest in him as of late.
