Talks over Antonio Conte’s future as Inter manager have been postponed until the end of the season according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

Inter have taken the decision to postpone any such talks until the end of the season due to wanting to be fully focused on the Europa League campaign, which gets back underway tomorrow, with Inter set to face Getafe in a one legged match for a place in the quarter finals.

The report goes on to explain that Conte spoke with Inter president Steven Zhang by phone on Sunday and did not wish to backtrack on the issue of lack of confidence in the top management and the poor protection he and the team have been given.

Conte made it clear to Zhang that there is something wrong and things need to be changed. Conte wants to stay at Inter and wishes to do well and perhaps change the club from within.

Suning are unlikely to give Conte such powers though and it is difficult to imagine that the frayed relations will be easily fixed either. A decision will be made after the Europa League.
