The relationship between Inter coach Antonio Conte and CEO Giuseppe ‘Beppe’ Marotta are frosty according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

The two have not met face-to-face yet following Conte’s recent outburst following Inter’s 2-0 win over Atalanta at the weekend, and according to the report from the Milan based news outlet, Marotta is already thinking about a possible Plan B to Conte as he did not expect such an outburst, despite knowing what Conte is like better than perhaps almost anyone else.

That Plan B is the appointment of Massimiliano ‘Max’ Allegri, who Inter would appoint if they and Conte are to go their separate ways at the end of the season.

Allegri is currently out of work and last managed Inter’s arch rivals Juventus. Marotta knows the former AC Milan manager well due to working with him whilst at Juventus.
