Barcelona currently do not have the funds available to them to complete a deal to sign Inter striker Lautaro Martinez according to a report from the online edition of Spanish news outlet Sport.
The global COVID-19 pandemic has greatly impacted Barcelona economically with them having lost hundreds of millions in the past few months.
They need €65-70 million and then some more in order to sign Lautaro from Inter and keep up with the payments. The club could raise said funds by selling players and they should also include full back Junior Firpo into negotiations for the highly rated Argentine national team player.
Signing a new striker is understood to be a priority for the Blaugrana club and it now remains to be seen whether they will manage to raise the appropriate funds to sign the 22-year-old, who they have been courting for a considerable amount of time.
This season Lautaro has made 45 appearances across all competitions to date, in which he has scored 19 goals and provided six assists for his teammates.
