Inter striker Romelu Lukaku has revealed he has already shifted his attention onto Inter’s next match in the Europa League having contributed to Inter getting past Getafe.

Lukaku gave Inter the lead around the half hour mark in the first half with a well taken finish and the Nerazzurri’s second goal came from second half substitute Christian Eriksen.

“It was a difficult match against a team that plays aggressively, but we did well, the defence did a good job and I’m happy to score for the team and I’m happy for Christian [Eriksen] who also got an important goal,” he remarked in an interview with Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia following the match at the Arena Auf’Schalke.

He was then asked about squandering a golden opportunity during the second half to which he responded: “These things happen in football, but I am already thinking about winning the next game and doing well for the team.”

The Belgian national team player concluded by speaking on how important it is to have manager Antonio Conte, whose future in charge of the club is reportedly in serious doubt following a public outburst after the win over Atalanta this past weekend.

“It is important because we are doing very well and the team is growing. We must continue like this with the same mentality and desire to improve every day.”

With his goal tonight against Getafe, Lukaku, who joined Inter in a club record transfer deal from Manchester United ahead of this season, has taken his tally for the season to 30 goals in 48 appearances across all competitions to date
