Inter striker Romelu Lukaku has insisted that he and his teammates must continue like this after their 2-0 win over Getafe in the last 16 of the Europa League.

The Belgian national team player started slowly but put Inter ahead with a well taken finish after he got on the end of an inch perfect long ball from Alessandro Bastoni shortly after the half hour mark.

Christian Eriksen popped up with Inter’s second goal of the match at the Veltins-Arena, in Gelsenkirchen, Germany, shortly before the end of the match, in which Getafe missed the chance to draw level when 1-0 down as they missed a penalty.

“It was a difficult match against a team that played aggressively. We did well and the defence did a good job,” Lukaku explained in an interview with Inter’s official club broadcaster Inter TV following the full time whistle.

“I’m happy for the victory and also for Christian [Eriksen] who scored an important goal for us. We must continue like this, think about winning the next match and keep working for the team.”

This season the 27-year-old forward has scored 30 goals in 48 appearances across all competitions to date and he has also provided a total of six assists for his teammates.
