Romelu Lukaku has contributed around a third of the goals that Inter have scored this season according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

The Belgian national team player has proven to be absolutely essential to Inter in his first year with the club, in which he has scored 30 goals and provided a total of five assists for his teammates. Lukaku has thus contributed in 35 of Inter’s 104 goals scored this season.

With 30 goals to his name this season, Lukaku has joined some elite company to have achieved this feat in Inter’s recent history and whilst difficult to match Samuel Eto’o tally of 37 goals in a single season, the best goalscoring season an Inter player has had in a long long time, Lukaku can still get close which would be a sign of considerable prestige.

Lukaku joined Inter in a club record €65 million transfer deal from Manchester United in the Summer of 2019 and he has a contract with Inter until 2024.
