It was hardly a beautiful performance that will be remembered in the history books, but the Nerazzurri got the job done and ran out 2-0 winner against Getafe.

Inter looked stunned by Getafe’s high press but managed to regain their composure and finding ways past the La Liga side’s high first press causing them problems instead.

Samir Handanovic – 7: Batman returns. Looked like the goalkeeper he was when named best goalkeeper in the Serie A. Commanding presence at the back.

Diego Godin – 5,5: Gave away the ball far too easily at times and gave away a penalty where he was unbalanced, but he never sulks instead fights on.

Stefan de Vrij – 6,5: The best central defender in the Serie A this past season demonstrated most of the qualities for receiving that accolade. Ice in his veins.

Alessandro Bastoni – 7: Very good performance by the youngster who barely put a foot wrong defensively and delivered an assist for Lukaku’s goal.

Danilo D’Ambrosio – 6,5: Completely shut down Getafe’s left flank. Ran until he couldn’t run no more and almost scored a scissor-kick volley into the top corner.

Roberto Gagliardini – 6,5: Put in a shift and a half defensively for the team. Worked his socks off, sacrificing himself for the team but is too slow on the ball.

Marcelo Brozovic – 6,5: It’s become quite evident now that he can’t coexist with a trequartista who plays like Eriksen but is best suited in this 3-5-2.

Nicolo Barella – 7: Probably his best performance since after the lock-down. Complete midfielder who never stops running. Unlucky not to score.

Ashley Young – 6: Pretty anonymous and invisible throughout the match. The idea was to attack down his flank and it never materialized. Solid defensively.

Romelu Lukaku – 7: Inter’s best and most consistent performer of the season continues to deliver MOTM performances. Scored his 30th goal of the season.

Lautaro Martinez – 6: Worked hard and tried to create but was either body-checked or smacked in the face. Visible for everyone watching except the ref.

Alexis Sanchez – 6: Brought on in the 69th minute for Lautaro Martinez and looked lively but failed to create anything concrete.

Christian Eriksen – 6,5: Replaced Brozovic in the 82nd minute and doubled the Nerazzurri’s lead barely 60 seconds later. Good performance.

Cristiano Biraghi – N/A: Came on in the 84th minute replacing Santo Danilo and didn’t play long enough to be able to be rated.

Antonio Conte – 7: Got everything absolutely spot on from preparing the players mentally to the line-up. Only negative is he only used 3 substitutes.

Anthony Taylor – 4,5: Penalty was clear, but biggest accomplishment was not booking anyone until 90th minute given that it was the Royal Rumble out there.

Inter – 6,5: A controlled and disciplined performance against a very tricky opponent & will play either Bayer Leverkusen or Rangers in quarter-final.
