Former Inter assistant manager Sylvinho has admitted that he would like to see former Barcelona teammate Lionel Messi playing where he is happy amid ongoing speculation regarding his future.

In the past few weeks, Messi has been linked with a potential move to Inter given his current contract with the Blaugrana is due to expire at the end of the upcoming season.

Reports have suggested that relations between Messi and Barcelona have become strained and many have suggested that he could depart the club for a new challenge after having spent his entire career with the La Liga outfit so far.

“Would I like to see Messi at Inter? I like to see Messi happy on the pitch scoring goals and beating records. He will decide the rest,” Sylvinho explained in an interview with Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, which appeared in today’s print edition.

This season Messi, who is a multi-time world player of the year, has made 42 appearances across all competitions to date. In just over 3600 minutes on the field, he has scored 30 goals and provided 26 assists for his teammates.
