Cagliari and new manager Eusebio Di Francesco hope to be able to convince Radja Nainggolan to stay at the club according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian news outlet FCInterNews.it.

The Sardinia based club wish to keep a hold of the Belgian midfielder who has spent the season on loan with him but at this moment there is no agreement with Inter over him.

Reports in the media in recent days have suggested Alessio Cragno could end up involved in a deal and it appears that the goalkeeper’s future will be elsewhere from Sardinia.

Inter manager Antonio Conte has expressed his desire for a suitable back-up to Samir Handanovic to be signed and although a swap deal would be handy, Cragno is not Inter’s first choice for the role. As things stand, Ionut Andrei Radu will likely be Inter’s back-up this coming season.

The report goes on to add that Nainggolan would like another stab at things at Inter. Inter could possibly reinstate him opposed to going out and signing Barcelona’s Arturo Vidal, who he shares largely similar chracteristics with.

Moreover by reinstating him, Inter would avoid the hassle of trying to find a club willing to meet their €20 million evaluation of him or finding another loan move for him.

In short, granting Nainggolan a second chance could be beneficial for all parties and Nainggolan is keen to redeem himself after the way he was abruptly classed as being out of Inter’s project.
