Borja Valero could return to former employers Fiorentina according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian news outlet La Nazione.

Fiorentina are seeking midfield reinforcements for the upcoming season and have already added Sofyan Amrabat to their ranks ahead of the new campaign. The report claims that Giacomo Bonaventura, who is set to leave AC Milan at the end of the month, is also on their radar.

Veteran Inter central midfielder Valero’s current contract is due to expire in a matter of weeks and rather than sign a contract extension with the club, the Spaniard could well return to the Florence based club where he previously had a five year spell between 2012 and 2017.

This season the former West Bromwich Albion player has made 25 appearances across all competitions to date. In his time on the park, which totals just over 1300 minutes, Valero has scored a total of three goals.
