Romelu Lukaku has won over the hearts of Inter fans before the end of his first season with the club according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Corriere dello Sport.

The Belgian national team player has netted 30 goals across all competitions and has become the first player since Samuel Eto’o in the 2010/11 season to score 30 or more goals in a single season for the club.

Lukaku has also matched the legendary Diego Milito for number of goals scored in his first season and Lukaku still has at least one more game to add to his tally.

The former West Bromwich Albion player has scored goals in each of Inter’s last five games in European competition to and the €65 million transfer fee, which is to be paid in five instalments, no longer seems such a big amount after what he has achieved with the club.

Moreover, he has managed to dismiss comparisons made with former Inter captain Mauro Icardi, the man he replaced, and has proven to be a key cog in Antonio Conte’s Inter side.
