Barcelona star Lionel Messi has purchased a property in the Torre Solaria skyscraper in Milan, amidst links with Inter, according to a report from Italian broadcaster Sport Mediaset earlier today.

The report details how the 33-year-old Argentine forward has followed in his father Jorge’s steps and purchased a home in the Lombard capital.

Whilst it may simply be an investment in one of the most iconic and luxurious places in Milan, it could also be a hint that a move to the Nerazzurri is on the cards.

Everything depends on what Messi wants to do, the report continues. His current contract expires with Barcelona at the end of next season and if he decides not to renew with the club then the Nerazzurri will be waiting.

The Suning group already have important sponsors backing them and have given vice president Javier Zanetti a mandate to test the waters with Messi.
