A report from English tabloid the Daily Mail detailed what it took to bring Chilean forward Alexis Sanchez from Manchester to Milan.
The report details how Manchester United spent around €10 million to tie up all of the 31-year-old’s loose ends in England and to allow him to join the Nerazzurri on a free transfer.
The expense was worth it for the Red Devils, considering that they would have had to pay the former Arsenal star around £50 million for the remaining two years of his contract, considering their qualification to the Champions League.
Sanchez has impressed this season under coach Antonio Conte, scoring four goals and providing 10 assists in 30 appearances across all competitions, despite suffering from a serious tendon injury at the start of the season that forced him to miss a large part of the Nerazzurri’s campaign. He will now be able to finish the Europa League campaign with the Milanese club.
