Inter are interested in Fiorentina defender Nikola Milenkovic, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Milano based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

The report details how rivals AC Milan are also interested in the 22-year-old Serbian defender, but the Nerazzurri are hoping to take advantage of the Rossoneri’s slow progress in the deal. Steven Zhang’s side have been in contact with the Viola over the last few days, with the club expressing their willingness to consider signing the player.

Inter are looking to strengthen their defence after Diego Godin and Milan Skriniar failed to impress coach Antonio Conte this season, the report continues. It’s unlikely that both will leave this summer, but the Nerazzurri are preparing for every eventuality.

Inter are relying on their excellent relationship with Rocco Commisso’s club, with talks already ongoing to confirm Dalbert’s loan at the club again. The Florence based club want €40 million for the 22-year-old.
