A report from today’s paper edition of the Turin based newspaper Tuttosport has analysed Inter’s upcoming opponents in the Europa League, Bayer Leverkusen.

The report details how the German club have three main tactical ideas, with the first being a four-man defence, which has been used in 80% of their European matches this season.

Their second tactical certainty is two defensive midfielders to protect the backline, used in all of their European games and all but four of their Bundesliga matches.

Leverkusen’s third idea will be to play with a single striker, the report continues, as they have used two strikers only twice so far this season.

The team’s strength is their defence, who have only conceded 44 goals this season in the league, three more than Borussia Dortmund. The club also is home to starlet Kai Havertz, who will be hoping to light up the tie ahead of a potential move to Chelsea this summer.
