Inter striker Lautaro Martinez’s agent, Carlos Beto Yaque, discussed his client and the rumours that he’s looking for a move to Barcelona in an interview with Argentinian TV show La Figura de la Cancha earlier today, as reported by FcInterNews.

“Lautaro’s departure is more in the media than a real thing. Lautaro has a three-year contract and is perfectly happy where he is.

“He’s had a great season, he still has the Europa League to play and I hope Inter can get to the finals of the competition.”

He then suggested that he had no need to give his client any advice, considering the player’s qualities and maturity.

“I’ve never given any advice to him and even now it’s not necessary. He’s always been a very complete player. As a kid he used to slide a lot and commit unnecessary fouls, but he learned a lot growing up. In his adolescence he acquired the virtues he has today.”

The player has been widely linked with a summer move to Barcelona, with some reporting that he has already agreed a five-year contract worth €10 million a season with the Catalan club.

Inter would prefer not to sell him and have agreed to listen to offers from the Blaugrana at the end of the season, although his release clause has expired so there is no obligation for them to accept.

The 22-year-old Argentine striker, who is contracted to the Nerazzurri until 2023, has impressed this season under coach Antonio Conte. Lautaro has made 46 appearances across all competitions so far this season, for a total of 3372 minutes. In that time, he has scored 19 goals and provided six assists, although has form has dipped recently.
